 | The historic merger of three towns
into one, now newly named Kaizu
city, took place on the 28th of
March, 2005. I am deeply honored
to take on the responsibility of
being the very first mayor. As I
communicate with the citizens, I
sense their great expectations for
the city government.
Our city is located in the southern-
most tip of Gifu prefecture. Its
neighbors are Mie prefecture to
the southeast, and Aichi prefecture
to the east. | The Kiso & Nagara Rivers form the border between Aichi and Gifu
as they flow to the Pacific Ocean. Making the most of these
unique characteristics and abundant nature, I am eager to serve
this new city, promoting its unity while at the same time respecting
its diversity. As we build Kaizu city together, I would appreciate
your continuous interaction, cooperation and support. Thank you
